Lopez de Heredia Rioja Reserva

Classic Rioja Alta from R. López de Heredia: Viña Tondonia Reserva, Tempranillo with Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo, matured six years in old American oak barrels, racked twice a year and fined with egg whites. Aromas of cured leather, cedar, raspberry tea, vanilla and dried berries, with a flash of orange zest. Medium-bodied, with fresh acidity, firm yet fine tannins and a long, savoury, focused finish. Pair with Sparkenhoe Red Leicester: its nutty, mellow sweetness frames the wine's dried fruit and spice.
