Domaine Regnard Santenay

Village Santenay from Domaine Regnard, a family estate in Sampigny-lès-Maranges now in its fourth generation, drawn from twenty to thirty-year-old vines on clay-limestone. Cold pre-fermentation and warm post-fermentation macerations precede twelve months in oak, around a third new. Bright ruby, it shows red cherry, raspberry and floral notes with a gentle thread of spice. The palate is supple yet well structured, with juicy fruit, silky tannins and a fresh, mineral finish. Pair it with Tunworth, whose earthy, mushroomy depth draws out the wine's savoury Pinot character.
